By the time you get to the college level, you should be able to do these papers effortlessly. The process is the same no matter what course you are taking. The only thing that changes is the material. Here is some useful advice on how to write a research paper on computer science:
The hardest thing to do when you are asked to write a paper is to decide on a topic. In this case your subject is computer science. You need to decide what you want your research paper to be on. The best way to do this is to brainstorm. You want to do your paper on something that is of interest to you so if you brainstorm you will find out what comes to your mind first. Set an alarm for 2 minutes. Within that 2 minutes write down as many topics as you can think of until you get to 10 or your time runs out. Start doing research on each of them and eliminate the 5 topics that have the least amount of research material available. Of the 5 that are left, pick three of them that you think your audience would be interested in. You want your readers to read your paper so think about them for a minute. Of the three of them that are left, choose the one that most appeals to you. After all, you are the one who will be spending a lot of time writing the paper so choose the one you are most passionate about.
Once you have your topic you need to begin doing research. Research will lead you to your topic sentence. Once you have your topic sentence you can narrow down your research. Use at least three different sources and keep excellent notes.
Create an outline that includes your introduction, main points you want to substantiate your topic sentence and your conclusion.
Create your rough draft by using your outline as a map. Follow your outline and write your paper. You have done the hardest part of your paper already.
Now make sure your paper is free from grammar and spelling errors and write your final draft.
All that is left to do now is be proud of your paper and hand it in.
